A Stay at Water Dance Farm: The Coziest Escape in Belgrade, Maine

When I found out I’d be staying at Water Dance Farm for an overnight creators trip hosted by Lyndee from The Belle of Belgrade, I heard one word and was immediately sold. Farm? I’m in.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by Jen and Kasey, the owners, and instantly felt at home. You know that feeling when a place just wraps you up the second you walk in? That was this.

The house itself is full of charm. Jen gave me a tour and shared stories about all the antiques she had thrifted and thoughtfully placed throughout the home. As someone who loves thrifting and antiques, I was in heaven… and yes, I absolutely had a moment where I considered how many things I could (hypothetically) sneak into my bag.
The kitchen was one of my favorite spots. Cozy, warm, and complete with a pellet stove that made it feel like the heart of the home. I could’ve spent all day in there.

The dining room felt like stepping back into a simpler time, the kind of place where you gather, slow down, and actually connect. And the living room? Bright, airy, and filled with plenty of seating for everyone to relax together.

And speaking of everyone... this place has seven bedrooms. Yes, seven. We were invited upstairs to pick our rooms, and naturally, I grabbed the first one I saw, convinced I had scored the best. But somehow, each room just kept getting better. Every bedroom is named after one of the seven Belgrade Lakes, which is such a thoughtful and clever touch.

Another detail I loved was that the walls are filled with work from local Maine artists, adding even more personality and connection to the space. And waiting for us was a welcome basket filled with local Maine goodies, always a win.

Outside, Jen showed us their beautiful barn where they host events and yes, they also rent it out for weddings, gatherings, and special occasions. You can just picture how magical a celebration would be in that space. They also grow food right on the property for their guests and community, and offer farm-fresh goods like flowers, eggs, and baked treats. And of course, there are animals. Chickens, ducks, and bunnies. It doesn’t get more wholesome than that.

Oh and they even have a roadside thrift and antique shop. I mean… come on.
Now let’s talk about the food, because it deserves its own moment. Dinner was served family-style, which made it feel even more special. We had homemade chicken pot pie, the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had, a fresh salad, and warm dinner rolls. And then… apple pie for dessert. It was one of those meals you wish you could bottle up and relive.

But breakfast? Somehow even better and I’m a breakfast girl, so that says a lot.
We had two kinds of quiche (both incredible), fresh fruit salad, and something I’m still thinking about.... a breakfast salad. I had never heard of it before, but now I need it in my life. Fresh greens, raspberries, granola, cucumbers, and a raspberry vinaigrette that was so good. There were also lemon blueberry muffins (I should’ve taken one for the road and I will regret that forever), bagels with cream cheese, and fresh juice.

Water Dance Farm is perfect for just about anything. A large family getaway, a girls’ weekend (already planning mine), or even a quiet couple’s escape. The fact that you can rent the entire home or book by the room makes it incredibly versatile.

But what truly makes this place special isn’t just the home, the food, or the setting, it’s the people. Jen, Kasey, and their family make you feel like part of theirs.
I was genuinely sad to leave… but I already know I’ll be back.
